Kevin C. Clark

Kevin C. Clark, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Kevin co-founded Cross Country in 1986 and served as its Chairman and CEO until 1994, after which he led several healthcare staffing and innovative marketing and technology companies. After more than 30 years of experience building and leading several public and private companies, Kevin has returned as Cross Country Healthcare’s President and CEO to provide strategic direction and a clear vision towards the future. His entrepreneurial mindset and extensive experience with technology and marketing will serve the company well as the staffing market evolves, positioning Cross Country Healthcare to increase shareholder value and emerge the industry leader. Prior to re-joining Cross Country Healthcare in 2019, Kevin held leadership positions at Talivity, Inc., OGH, LLC, and Pinnacor and received a B.B.A. from Florida Atlantic University.

Susan E. Ball

Susan E. Ball, Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel
Susan serves as the legal advisor to Cross Country Healthcare’s CEO and board of directors, overseeing corporate governance, securities matters, risk management, workers’ compensation, insurance, litigation, and mergers and acquisitions and facilitating strategic corporate initiatives. Prior to practicing law, she was a Registered Nurse, giving her unique insight into the legal matters facing the company. Susan has extensive experience with public company issues, serving as a valuable strategic partner to Cross Country Healthcare’s leadership team. Prior to joining Cross Country Healthcare, Susan held positions at Gunster, a Florida-based law firm. and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom, and served as a director of Jamestown Indemnity. Ms. Ball is a member of the Florida bar and the New York bar and received her B.S. from Ohio State University, cum laude, J.D. from New York Law School, magna cum laude, and M.B.A. from Florida Atlantic University, magna cum laude.

William J. (Bill) Burns

William J. (Bill) Burns, Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer
As Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Bill is responsible for leading Cross Country Healthcare’s finance, accounting & tax, treasury, procurement, investor relations and shared services functions. With more than 25 years of experience, Bill is a valuable member of the executive team, providing critical insights and expertise to enhance business performance and grow the company’s market share. He is deeply engaged in developing the company’s strategic business plans and financial strategies, as well as improving operational performance company-wide. Prior to joining Cross Country Healthcare, Bill held leadership positions at Gartner, CA, Adecco and Honeywell. He is a certified public accountant and received B.A. from Queens College and a M.B.A .from NYU Stern School of Business.

Marc Krug

Marc Krug, Division President, Travel & CCMSN
Marc is responsible for the strategic direction and day-to-day business operations for Cross Country Healthcare’s travel nurse and allied divisions. Throughout his almost 30-year career, Marc has held leadership roles in healthcare staffing and human resources. Prior to his career in staffing, Marc practiced law in Boston, MA. His strong track record of growing revenue, improving operational efficiencies, scaling businesses and executing strategies will provide travel nurse & allied continued growth. Marc received a BA from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, a JD from New England School of Law and an MBA from Boston College Carroll School of Management.

John A. Martins

John A. Martins, Group President, Delivery
John is responsible for Cross Country Healthcare’s CCN, CCA and CCMSN delivery brands, operations, and proprietary Marketplace app. John has more than 15 years of experience in the healthcare staffing industry, including extensive knowledge of travel nursing and allied, per diem, locum tenens and education staffing services. He also has a keen understanding of developing and deploying digital innovation and technology. Prior to joining Cross Country, John served in leadership roles at Onward Healthcare, AMN Healthcare and most recently, Aya Healthcare. He received his Bachelor of Science from William Peterson University.

Colin McDonald

Colin McDonald, SVP Human Resources
Colin oversees Cross Country’s human capital strategy and human resources initiatives, including corporate-wide employee benefits programs, training and development, employee and labor relations, organizational development and succession planning. With nearly 15 years of experience in the human resources industry, Colin has had a significant impact across many areas of the company, helping shape business strategy and talent development to build a world class, high performing workforce that drives the company’s competitive distinction. Prior to joining Cross Country Healthcare, Colin held leadership positions at Carnival Cruise Lines, RandCol Staffing and Citrix and received a B.A. from the State University of New York and M.S. from Mercy College.

Karen Mote

Karen Mote, President, Cross Country Locums
Karen is responsible for the strategic direction and day-to-day business operations for Cross Country Locums. She is uniquely qualified in her role as President, having spent more than 20 years moving up the ranks of CCL and serving in a range of director and executive-level roles. Having worked herself in the healthcare field, Karen is committed to creating deep partnerships with healthcare facilities and providing caring, qualified healthcare providers that are passionate about patient care. Karen received an A.A.S. from North Georgia Technical College.

Phil Noe

Phil Noe, Chief Information Officer
Phil is responsible for blending cutting-edge technology solutions in innovative and thoughtful ways to make Cross Country Healthcare employees more productive and successful. His 25+ years of experience include leadership roles at Vaco, LLC, Adecco Group, Advanced Solutions Practice Consulting Group, and Fidelity National Information Services. He has a Master of Science in Information Management and another Master in Science in Healthcare Administration, both from Washington University. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Florida.

Gerald Purgay

Gerald Purgay, Chief Marketing Officer
Gerald joined Cross Country Healthcare in August of 2020 and is responsible for leading all aspects of marketing. He has more than 25 years global CMO experience across the human capital, talent management, HR consulting & technology, SaaS and staffing segments. Gerald brings a successful track record of delivering exceptional brand experiences, simulating revenue growth and executing innovative digital marketing initiatives fueled by previous leadership roles with Mercer, Right Management, Manpower Group and most recently as CMO at Oasis Outsourcing. Purgay holds a Masters of Business Administration in Global Marketing from the New York Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from York University in Toronto, Canada.

Mihal Spiegel

Mihal Spiegel, President, Education
As Executive Director, Mihal leads the Cross Country Education team in building and maintaining school partnerships that align with the company’s mission of being educator-led, student-driven and solutions-oriented. As a former public school educator and administrator working in inner-city schools, Mihal saw first hand the lack of quality services and innovative solutions being offered to students. This experience continues to fuel her passion and dedication to serving the ever-evolving needs of public schools. Prior to joining Cross Country Education, Mihal served as a curriculum coordinator and a teacher and received a B.A. and M.S. from California State University.

Buffy Stultz White

Buffy Stultz White, Group President, Workforce Solutions
Buffy is responsible for the B2B client-facing side of the business representing all of Cross Country Healthcare. With more than 25 years of experience in the staffing industry, Buffy brings a broad range of strategic and tactical knowledge in customer development, strategic sourcing, process engineering, business process improvement, change management and dynamic team building. Her deep expertise in designing, developing and managing high performance, high-growth organizations serves her well in providing strategic direction across multiple brands. Prior to joining Cross Country Healthcare, Buffy held leadership positions at Pontoon, Adecco and SFN Group.

Henry Drummond

Henry 'Hank' Drummond, PhD, MDiv, BA, RN
Senior Vice President, Chief Clinical Officer

As the Chief Clinical Officer for Cross Country Healthcare, Hank oversees the organization’s Clinical, Quality, Education and Regulatory Compliance. Throughout his more than 25-year career, Hank has applied his healthcare administration experience and a broad base of exceptional management expertise to assist organizations’ meet their long-term objective of delivery superior patient care. His past leadership roles have included executive and director level positions as Chief Nursing Officer, Nursing Administrator and Nurse Executive. He has also served as a University Instructor at Indiana University and Montana State University. Hank’s proficiency in balancing patient care with business efficiencies provides Cross Country Healthcare clients with an innovative approach, supported by cutting edge technology, to meet the daily demands of healthcare delivery. Hank earned his RN at St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing, his bachelor degree from Ottawa University, his master degree from Concordia University and was awarded a doctorate from Canterbury University.

Liz Cantwell

Liz Cantwell, BSN, RN
Senior Vice President of Workforce Solutions
Chief Nursing Officer

Liz serves as Senior Vice President of Workforce Solutions and Chief Nursing Officer, overseeing the development and implementation of strategic initiatives that provide healthcare facilities customized solutions to meet their specific workforce needs. Understanding the dynamics impacting the industry, Liz provides healthcare professionals and facilities with expert insight to help them improve client satisfaction and patient outcomes and ensure quality measures are met. She also serves as the clinical executive sponsor for several partnerships nation-wide, leading efforts to continually identify strategies for the improvement in contingent healthcare professional supply, retention and quality. Part of the Cross Country Healthcare family for more than 15 years, Liz has been instrumental in a variety of clinical leadership roles, including the oversight of Workforce Solutions implementation, operations, client relationships, analytics & reporting and clinical services. Liz graduated from St. Bartholomew's Hospital, London and University of London, England.
