Recently, Buffy White, Group President, Workforce Solutions, was the keynote speaker at the 2022 LEAP HR Healthcare Conference in San Diego, California. The conference was attended by senior healthcare professionals from across the country and drew on the insights of 50-plus case studies that focused on how organizations are harnessing the potential of high-impact HR.
The goal? To better attract, develop, inspire and retain healthcare employees to drive business efficiency and create positive patient outcomes.
As a result of COVID-19 and the subsequent challenges currently facing the market, there is a need to create innovative workforce models to adapt to a new, ever-evolving normal.
A key observation discussed was that organizations need to recognize the shift in the workforce paradigm and be not just innovative, but creative with their total talent strategies, from sourcing and attracting to retaining and motivating their permanent and contingent staff and, most notably, the equilibrium of resource utilization.
Three key strategies were presented:
- Understand the supply and demand of the labor force dynamics.
- Create and/or redefine your workforce strategy and plan from the facility and workforce perspectives.
- Build a healthcare technology roadmap, which must include the critical component of a Vendor Management System to optimize the management of talent recruitment processes.
